I enjoy the startup life, chaos, and the ability to build a team from the ground up. “Culture” has become a buzz word, but at its core is the heart and soul … the DNA, if you will … of a start up. And building a culture of empathy, collaboration, transparency, kindness, and fun is incredibly important. It can also be done in conjunction with build a high performing, process- and goal-oriented team. I have a proven track record building those teams out for the product, engineering, IT, and infosec functions, forming close functional relationships with operations, support, and revenue teams. I believe that departments should be tightly integrated from day 1, even when they are one person departments. As they grow, this collaboration across functions will carry through to the team and form a healthy, effective, positive company culture. Building solid process and product are my interests, but people and relationships are my passion.
