I am a lifelong tinkerer and have been building things and writing down invention ideas since I was a little kid. I am a mechanical engineer by formal education, a self-taught programmer, and a robotics engineer in my day job. I learn quickly and very much enjoy the process of starting with an idea, then learning and using whatever is necessary to get it off the ground.
For the past three years I have been working on DragonSkin, a company that sells stingray-resistant surfing booties, with friends from college. However, much of this project involves waiting for manufacturing to ship us prototypes, and I find myself with yet more free time.
I am looking for other people to work on ideas with in free time that may eventually turn into something bigger. Since I think a good cofounder-relationship necessitates deep trust and knowledge, at this point my goal is to meet potentially great business partners, and then tinker and try projects with them while we learn more about each other.
