Why Karlee would make a good co-founder

I’ve lived the problem. I used to read self-improvement books and not apply them. I built BookVentures to fix that gap with simple prompts, clear actions, and real accountability.

I ship, even with a full life. I’m a mom of five, hold a part-time job, and still deliver client packets, group prompts, and weekly follow-ups. I don’t wait for “perfect”; I move.

Process is my superpower. I make checklists, templates, and step-by-step flows so work is repeatable. That means smoother onboarding, consistent client results, and less chaos.

Community is already in motion. I’m active in multiple women’s and book groups, where I start thoughtful threads and build trust without spam. People return because it feels safe and useful. I also just launched a beta Facebook group as the testing ground for a larger BookVentures community.

I’m transparent. I communicate openly about progress, challenges, and money. Right now I can give 30 hours/week. As soon as we’re covering $400/week profit after expenses, I’ll increase my hours so we can grow faster.

I’m a real coach. I hold space, ask brave questions, and match each chapter to actions (2 practical + 2 playful). Clients actually do the work and tell me it helps.

Low-ego, partner mindset. I want shared wins, clear roles, honest check-ins, and simple dashboards so we always know what’s working.

Elevator pitch for startup:

Hi, I’m Karlee, founder of BookVentures, a coaching business that helps people stop just reading self-improvement books and actually apply them to their lives. I design daily reflection prompts, action steps, and accountability experiences that turn books into real transformation.

My long-term vision is to scale BookVentures into a team of Insight-to-Action coaches, each specializing in a category of self-improvement. That way, I can focus on the areas I’m most passionate about while co-creating a collaborative, sustainable company.

I’m looking for a cofounder who brings sales strategy, marketing, and tech expertise and is also passionate about life coaching, self-improvement books, and building community alongside me. Together, we can create a business that’s profitable, starting at $10K/month and growing and also deeply impactful, helping readers worldwide actually live out what they read.

If you’re excited about coaching, growth, and co-building a vibrant community with me, let’s connect.
