Finding a suitable Cofounder and where should they be located?

Is it recommended to find cofounders in similar cities? or is possible to create a successful start up with founders being in different cities/countries?

It's true that everything can be done online these days, but still, being able to have a face-to-face conversation makes everything faster and better for me.

I tends to become more creative and solve problems better in person.

Cofounders hailing from major cities bring a myriad of advantages to the table, rendering them indispensable assets in the entrepreneurial landscape. Their exposure to the bustling ecosystems of metropolises like New York, London, or Tokyo instills them with a deep-rooted understanding of dynamic markets, cutting-edge technologies, and diverse consumer demographics. By living in urban areas and having an urban upbringing, these cofounders are inherently wired to navigate complexity, adapt swiftly to change, and capitalize on emerging trends. Moreover, their proximity to influential networks, top-tier talent pools, and investment avenues furnishes them with unparalleled opportunities for collaboration, mentorship, and resource mobilization. In essence, cofounders from major cities serve as catalysts for innovation, driving forward the frontiers of entrepreneurship with their unparalleled insights, connections, and resilience.

for a more national/international business, having a foreign co-founder from a different city or country could be valuable thanks to the unique perspective that person could have.

If you and your co-founder(s) is/are highly skilled entrepreneur(s) in getting things done remotely, location is secondary. Or if all of you have the resources to travel frequently to meet physically, location is also secondary. When it comes to crucial conversations and decision making, there's no substitute from meeting face-to-face. On a higher level, humans have the capability to sense others who is close by. It's called the vibes. I can sense whether someone is telling the truth or not; or whether someone has the confidence to take certain actions regardless of what they say. All human beings can do that so long as they tune in to the subtle energy around us.
